  1. Hello Emerson,
I personally am not offended by posts regarding body images, but can understand how parents and others could be. It seems to me that Kim Kardashian was looking to make money and disregarded her social media image to make money. You made strong points on how she should focus on what she believes in.

  2. Emerson,
I feel as if this is a touchy subject matter because of how different people can be offended by such material. I really liked your points about how Kim K can focus on her beliefs as well as your presentation overall!

  3. Emerson,
Although this post does not offend me, I can see how young girls could be influenced by it. Since Kim Kardashian has such a massive following on social media, she should act as a leader of promoting body positive messages. She could change the perspectives of many young women today if she did not focus on her personal profits from advertisements.

  4. Hi Emerson, I agree that Kim Kardashian's advertisement was inappropriate and not following social media etiquette. I agree that she could have still posted the advertisement if she was more sensitive and acceptive in her caption. I also agree that she should have apologized after the backlash from her ad. Great job!

  5. Hello, Emerson. I really enjoyed your explanation of what social media etiquette means to you. In general, I am tired of seeing people I follow advertising products. I have never purchased something just because it was celebrity-endorsed.

  6. Emerson,
I do not find her posts all that offensive in this aspect but I do think it's best for her to remember the amount of following that she has. Endorsements such as these are susceptible to many different kind of people and it is probably best to be aware next time she does an endorsement such as this.

  7. Emerson, I liked your definition of social media etiquette in how business and personal should be separated. Kim Kardashian is a very good example of some poor social media etiquette. I agree that her posts were offensive and fed into the societal stereotypes against bodies that are not skinny.

  8. I see your point. Kim K's case is controversial that it may or may not be offensive to all people, but I can easily imagine the possibility. Your presentation implies an important reason why celebrities have to be careful when running their social media account. They definitely have a strong influence on their fans. Therefore, they have to make sure that what they post online is also representing their own points of view.

  9. Hi Emerson!

I personally think Kim is a horrible rolemodel to people. She did not need that deal with some one who is insensitive to body images, especially with all the surgery she has gotten herself. It is important if you have millions of followers to not have insensitive things posted on social media for everyone to see!

  10. Whenever posting on social media the person posting has a good amount of time to think about what they are posting and they should consider how what they say can be construed by others. People should think before they speak and think twice before they post.

  11. Hi,
I think your video brought up a great point about sometimes people are doing something for one reason but people may be taking it as a different reason. I think this issues defintily is something that many women and men struggle with and it's not something that will ever go away. I think Kim should understand that when making decisions to post images that may be supporting a product but may make others feel a certain way after viewing them. I think you did an excellent job in your presentation!

  12. Kim Kardashian has a large media presence. I really don't think she actually cares, there will always be good and bad criticism. She's promoting this product along with countless others.

  13. The Kardashian family has been involved with so many scandals it is difficult to tell what they actually feel remorse for and what they do not. That being said, that goes for almost any celebrity that has had a social media blunder. I think it is important that Kim kardashian tries to put herself in the shoes of the majority of her followers to be sure that she isn't unintentionally hurting anyone.

  14. Hi Emerson,
I do agree that sometimes comments can be misconstrued by different people. Things are often taken out of context! I think Kim Kardashian needs to think about her huge media presence and understand the impact she has!

  16. Hey Emerson,
I liked your definition of social media etiquette. I had never heard of this particular scandal with a Kardashian but I feel like I hear news about scandals with them often. The company in this situation should also consider changing their name after Kim Kardashian got all of this backlash.

  17. Hi Emerson,
I definitely agree with your definition of social media etiquette and I have a similar one as well! It should always be professional and the individual should always be making sure their content is not offensive. For Kim's sake, I think her ads were definitely inappropriate because of what drove the content's impression to the public.

  18. Hi Emerson,
It is important as a social media influencer and celebrity to be aware of your audience and to be mindful of them. There certainly is a problem with the way that social media plays a part in body shaming and creating a picture perfect image of what women should look like, etc. I think that Kim should have promoted the product differently although I don't think that her intent was to make other women feel bad about themselves or to make other women feel like they need to have a flat stomach. She simply promoted a product that she uses and did so without really breaking any social media etiquette rules in my opinion. She probably didn't apologize because she didn't really do anything wrong, although I think that if people were really that bothered by her promotion of this brand, maybe she should have posted a follow up on the importance of loving your body no matter the size and that all women are beautiful. She chose not to do that, which does speak to her character in a negative way.

  19. Hi Emerson,
Great presentation! I liked how you explained what social media etiquette is and provided a definition for it. Kim Kardashian was one of my options for this social media etiquette project. She definitely has a huge fan following so she should think about the impact it will have on people. People will stop looking up to her because of what she posts or what she says. I agree that her posts were horrible and that she should've apologized.

  20. Hi Emerson,
Your presentation was explained well on social media etiquette. Kim has a lot of followers and she will receive negavity no matter what she posts. She has done and said a lot of things that were inappropriate and at times disrespectful. I would have to say that in this case, she did not violate any rules of social media etiquette. She just received back lash for a product, not necessarily for posting any disrespectful comments. Good job, though!
